This week Dreamworks Animation announced the newest VeggieTales movie: Noah’s Ark. This is the first Bible-themed VeggieTales production in more than four years. Emmy award-winning actor Wayne Brady (Let’s Make a Deal) and Christian singer, actress and radio host Jaci Velasquez star in this new feature. VeggieTales Noah’s Ark will be available on DVD and for digital download on March 3, 2015.

Brady brings Shem, Noah’s son, to life. “Saying ‘yes’ to VeggieTales was a no-brainer – my daughter’s a fan and I love the music and messages,” says Brady, “The best part is, Bob and Larry are down to earth and they never let the ‘I’m a global Veggie superstar’ thing go to their heads.” Brady performs seven original songs in the feature.

Velasquez is Shem’s wife, Sadie. “Every parent searches for entertainment that’s both wholesome and imparts valuable life lessons,” she says, “with Noah’s Ark, VeggieTales serves up a delicious dish on both counts. The story, the music and the visuals are perfect for the entire family.”

The Veggie plot of Noah’s Ark has Shem and Sadie returning from their honeymoon to find that Noah (Pa Grape) has started to construct a massive ark. Noah is getting help from his wife Naamah (Madame Blueberry) and his sons Ham (Larry) and Japheth (Bob). All because God told him to do so before the forty days and forty nights of rain.

Shem just doesn’t understand his father’s actions, nor his unbreakable and unwavering faith in God. Even more so when animals start arriving two-by-two while the sun is shining and there are no rain clouds to be seen. But, when the rains do come, Shem finally understands his father’s determination, powered by his trust in God, to preserve a future for humanity.

The movie also includes a brand-new “Silly Songs with Larry,” where we find Larry in a safari outfit as he goes on a quest for a gigantic, golden egg.
